Day 15: Who are you, Mr. Classical Music?

PreviousNext

In the past, the classical music concert was purely an aural experience with supplemental visual.s. An experience which we now layer with the unknown: technology, art, dance, film, puzzle, psychology and more. Our tier 2 and 3 designs are shifting the industry standard and will eventually shift the identity and image of classical music. Our design aims to save the best pieces of tradition and replace the weaker elements with creative solutions. This change creates a struggle in identity because of expectation, marketing, belief and purpose.

Who are you, classical music? What is your purpose?

Entertainment – Empowerment – Education

The internal workings of our design are specifically aimed at social engagement and interplay; the process in itself is a therapy. The program always focuses on the purpose – facing the challenge of globalization and providing an environment of exploration and collaboration.

Is this science?

A controlled environment which provides certain constants and variables – all specifically designed for the people who participate.

Free will vs. Guided Subconscious

This is another important duality that is seen throughout this art. Can we predict what will happen?

The injection of a scientific and psychologic approach gives this art more weight and practicality. The arts and sciences have always been linked., but artistically, science and practicality are often seen as destructive influences. Once you can layer them in the program so that they supplement and bolster each other, the resulting product will have a greater purpose. Education and empowerment value rise, while entertainment lowers.

Was classical music ever true entertainment in 2014?

What is the answer for the slow death of classical music – economically, culturally and artistically? An answer lives within the seed of our music and arts experience formed in socially-engaged art practice. A renaissance is on the horizon.
